Artist : Art Tutor : Trainee Art Therapist

My teaching practice focuses on multidisciplinary process-based art making, specialising in painting and printmaking.

I have 25 years of experience in community engagement and creative workshop facilitation, and I am currently training in psychodynamic and trauma-informed Art Therapies.

In current research, positioning myself as the subject, I have been exploring the therapeutic and symbolic potential of textile making, mending and embroidery within art psychotherapy practice. The study examined how making textile forms can function as embodied and narrative methodologies for trauma processing and self-realisation while also drawing on cultural practices of storytelling and resistance.

I am also currently studying attunement to the felt senses and bilateral drawing for trauma processing with the Institute for Sensorimotor Art Therapy.
