Artwork enhancements for a new Dialysis unit, The Western General Hospital, Edinburgh 2020.
This year I've been working with Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation on a project to design artworks for a new Kidney Dialyis Unit. I worked closely with an advisory group of patients, staff and managers from the hospital throughout, so the final works are carefully composed to reflect their ideas. The brief was to respond to the geology, nature and biodiversity of the north Edinburgh area around the hospital and to also include architectural features such as the castle, the view from Goldenacre and local wildlife. I have produced a 5 metre landscape design for interior window screens and a repeat design for textiles and for a reception desk.
Vinyl designs for internal window screens
Section 1 . Arthurs Seat and the National Monument
Section 2. The Botanics and Edinburgh Castle
Section 3. The Water of Leith at Stockbridge and St.Bernards Well.
Section 4. The pond and allotments at Inverleith Park.
Willow and Morning Glory, textile design inspired by plants on the banks of the Water of Leith.  This design will be printed onto vinyl for a reception desk and textiles for seating in the waiting area.
