Artworks for a new Dialysis Unit

The Western General Hospital, Edinburgh 2020

In 2020 I worked with Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation on a project to design artwork for a new Kidney Dialysis Unit. I worked closely with an advisory group of patients, staff and managers from the hospital throughout the project, so the final works are carefully composed to reflect their ideas. The brief asked that the artwork should respond to the geology, nature and biodiversity of the north Edinburgh area around the hospital and should include architectural features such as the castle and explore the green belt along the Water of Leith. This would bring images of local wildlife into the new build. I produced a 5 metre landscape design for interior window screens and a further repeat pattern design for wall mounted aluminium panels.
